21 DAY  fast

In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus said "WHEN you give, WHEN you pray, and WHEN you fast."  As followers of Christ, these areas are not merely suggested, but expected.  Whether you've never fasted before, or you've already discovered the power of this biblical practice, we are excited for you to partner in faith with us!

The goal of fasting is first and foremost to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives.  Perhaps you are believing God specifically for breakthrough in an area. Whether it's direction, finance, family, or healing, fasting denies your flesh and builds your spirit, realigning your focus on God!  

Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge with the ultimate goal of seeking God in prayer and drawing nearer to His heart. It should follow what Jesus outlined in Matthew 6:16-18 and not be legalistic or bragging, but done with a humble heart before God.

Please also consider joining us in prayer in the main auditorium when this fast begins, Monday-Thursday anytime between 11:00AM-1:00PM.

We are so excited for the new year and to start this fast with you!  

- Complete or full fast: This fast is restricted to water, broth, or juice only with no solid food intake. This was the most common type of fast found in scriptures.

- Day Fast (or sun up to sundown fast): This fast is done from the time the sun rises until it goes down at the end of the day with only water being consumed during the daylight hours. Food intake after the sun goes down can be restricted to only certain foods or can go unrestricted. If you choose this type of fast it's important to remember why you are fasting and not "gorge" yourself to get you through the day.

- Daniel Fast: This fast is based on the fast in Daniel chapter 1. The Daniel Fast is a biblical based partial fast that excludes any types of meats, sugars and processed foods; it consists of fruits, vegetables and water.
